The Tahoe Joy Festival is a free, one-day benefit music festival at Tahoe City’s Commons Beach, inspired by the idea that music is meant to be shared freely—creating connection, and welcoming the community together in joy.
Each year, the festival supports local nonprofits,
uplifts local musicians, and celebrates the creative spirit of the region
ensuring that the joy felt on the beach carries forward long after the last song is played.

Rooted in the joyful legacy of Hoyt Axton’s iconic song “Joy to the World,” musician and North Lake Tahoe native, Matt Axton founded the Joy Foundation and Tahoe Joy Festival to honor a family legacy and to celebrate the power of music and community — creating spaces where people come together in joy.
