About The Festival
The Tahoe Joy Festival is a FREE, all-day benefit music festival held at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. This family-friendly event showcases regional bands, youth performers, and over 30 local artists, makers, non-profit organizations and food and beverage trucks.
The Tahoe Joy Festival benefits local non-profits. 2025’s beneficiary is The Tahoe Truckee School of Music.
The Tahoe Joy Festival, the brainchild of Tahoe local Matt Axton, was inspired by Axton’s father, Tahoe resident and musical legend Hoyt Axton’s biggest hit, “Joy to the World” (‘Jeremiah was a bullfrog’) and spreading a little more “Joy” in the Tahoe City community through music, art and environmental stewardship.
