Spreading The Joy
The Tahoe Joy Festival started as a simple idea, as most good things do:
How can we showcase Tahoe's diverse music scene, bask in its natural beauty and support local nonprofits all in the same day?
I am lucky enough to be born and raised in Tahoe City and my family has been part of the music industry for 3 generations. I quickly started gauging the interest of local all star musicians and business leaders and the details fell into place. We could utilize Tahoe City's amazing show space at Commons Beach, tie the event into the annual Tahoe City wine walk and make it the un-official kick-off to the summer music series.
After participating in many shows connected with the Tahoe Truckee School of Music, (a local non-profit that creates events around community music sharing), it was a natural partnership to get the festival going.
With rotating musical acts and nonprofit beneficiaries each year, the Tahoe Joy Festival is an amazing annual off-season, eco-friendly staple event to benefit Tahoe City and its musical community.
