Music has always brought people together in my family. I created Tahoe Joy Festival because music creates a shared heartbeat—where families gather, generations connect, young musicians find their confidence, and neighbors become friends. It’s a place where joy is felt freely, not just heard. Tahoe Joy Festival is my gift to the community that raised me.

OUR MISSION
The Joy Foundation’s mission is to support independent artists and strengthen communities through the creation of high-quality musical events and educational programs that celebrate music, performance, and artistry. We spread joy by uplifting local artists, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses while fostering environmental stewardship through meaningful community engagement.
A Joy Foundation program, the Tahoe Joy Festival is a free, one-day benefit music festival at Tahoe City’s Commons Beach, inspired by the idea that music is meant to be shared freely—creating connection, supporting local nonprofits, and welcoming generations together in joy.
UPLIFTING MUSICIANS & ARTISTS
The Tahoe Joy Festival’s mission is to highlight local and regional musical talent giving artists a high-quality platform, a festival performance experience and compensation to further support their craft. The festival also offers artisans and makers a space to showcase their art further strengthening the arts in the Tahoe region.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
As a benefit festival, giving back is woven into everything we do.
Over the past three years, Tahoe Joy Festival has proudly donated more than $10,000 to local nonprofits—extending the joy created on stage into meaningful support for North Lake Tahoe communities. Tahoe Joy Festival also provides free booth space for nonprofits to share their organization’s work with local and non-local residents creating a larger community spirit.

Tahoe Joy Festival strengthens community vitality by bringing people into the heart of downtown Tahoe City. It helps create energy, visibility, and economic momentum that supports small businesses and reinforces Tahoe City as a vibrant, welcoming place to gather.

Tahoe Joy Festival uplifts the next generation of musicians by giving youth performers a real stage and a supportive community. Through our Community Stage, student musicians share their talent, build confidence, and experience the joy of live performance—reminding us that music grows stronger when it’s passed from one generation to the next.

By blending music, joy, and environmental awareness, the festival helps nurture a sense of responsibility and care for Tahoe’s future, empowering the next generation to become thoughtful stewards of this special place.
